In recognition of students high support needs, the ratio of staff to students is low. The school provides educational services for children 4 to 12 years of age. Sylvanvale School has a policy of ensuring students make a smooth transition to the secondary education setting. These settings may include support classes or special schools. The decision to transition a student is based upon family priorities, the child’s age, the child’s individual education plan and their ability to cope in a less specialised setting.
