Eighteen children from Sylvanvale’s Early Learning and Education Service used paint, feathers, glitter and photographs to create artworks that illustrate just how important their families are to their happiness. The eye-catching results were on display at Westfield Miranda’s Centre Court from Tuesday 27 April to Friday 7 May.
The children all under the age of six used various artistic methods to make their masterpieces. Zoey used bright colours to create the four stars in her life: her mum, dad, brother and sister, while Polly loved using her hands and textured rollers to create a beautiful image of her family at the beach, Tannor used heart stickers to show how much he loves his Mum and brother, while Emily drew a family tree, signifying how much her family’s support has helped her to grow. The canvases were sold by silent auction and all proceeds will go towards the Integrated Childcare Centre planned for Sylvanvale’s Mikarie Place site at Kirrawee. Thankyou to our community partner Westfield Miranda for supporting the exhibition by making Centre Court available for no charge, supplying the canvases and boards, making the plaques and promotional signage and administering the auction. |
