They may not have been the team from Backyard Blitz, but the 17 volunteers from Westfield Miranda’s centre management team showed their thumbs could be just as green as the TV show gardeners as they gave four Sylvanvale groups homes garden makeovers. For two days they weeded, mulched, pruned and planted and generally improved the exterior of the properties at Barden Ridge, Menai and Bangor.

At one home in Barden Ridge, the volunteers planted a gourmet vegetable and herb garden, which will be tended to by staff and residents and once ripe for picking, will be used for cooking and eating and sharing with neighbours.

The volunteer days are part of the ongoing partnership between Westfield and Sylvanvale Foundation and the hard work by the Westfield Miranda staff is very much appreciated by Sylvanvale, especially the residents who now have gorgeous gardens to enjoy and organic veggies and herbs on the way.
