Sylvanvale Celebration Dinner

The annual Sylvanvale Celebration Dinner was again held at The Grand Roxy in Brighton Le Sands and proved to be a fitting venue for such a sparkling event. More than 150 friends, supporters and community representatives attended the function to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements made by Sylvanvale over the past twelve months. Guests were treated to a packed program; MC Clint Paddison kept everyone entertained and on time throughout the evening. Music was provided by Paulini who sang some new songs and old favourites and Gerry and the Atrix who covered hits from the last five decades and had everyone on the dance floor.

The theme of the evening was “keeping families together” and guests were shown a video featuring the Wellings family who shared the story of their daughter Layla and the amazing progress she has made since being involved with Sylvanvale. Funds raised on the night will be used to purchase specialist equipment for the Integrated Long Day Care Centre that will assist children to sit, weight bare and eventually walk without assistance.

We were pleased to welcome a number of special guests at the dinner including Debbie Crowley and Simmone Lindstrom from the Big Sister Movement, Jill Deering from Westfield and Karl Fretwell from Sargents. The support and assistance provided by these three organisations has been invaluable in enabling us to achieve our goal of providing specialist support and therapy services to children and families across Sydney.

We were also pleased to welcome the Hon. Peter Primrose, Minister for Ageing, Disability Services, Volunteering and Youth, who made a special donation to purchase a pacer-gait walker that will be used by children at the Integrated Long Day Care Centre.

The night was a huge success and it was a real pleasure to be amongst so many friends and supporters. Our thanks go to the Grand Roxy for hosting us and to everyone who attended on the night, your support and belief in Sylvanvale really does go to show that anything is possible.
