Over 40 years ago Sylvanvale Foundation opened its first second-hand goods shop in Caringbah. Manned by volunteers from the Ladies Auxiliary, it raised funds for Sylvanvale. Shop proceeds contributed towards transport, teaching aids, renovations, swimming pools and building projects.

After being based in the same location in Park Lane Caringbah for four decades, the second-hand shop moved around the corner and received a makeover.

Sylvanvale Foundation Retail Therapy opened its doors for business on Wednesday 7 December at 29-33 President Avenue, Caringbah.

Sylvanvale Chair of the Board, Lorna Stone, was pleased to welcome Sylvanvale supporters and guests to the opening night, including Jill Pracy, who was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and driving force behind the original second-hand shop.

Retail Therapy Manager, Jodie Murphy, said “Opening a new-look pre-loved goods store at Sylvanvale has been one of my dreams for many years. I adore the new shop and greatly appreciate the help of all the dedicated volunteers.  I hope to expand and open more Retail Therapy outlets in the future.”

Retail Therapy specialises in vintage and retro clothing and pre-loved goods.
The store is open weekdays from 10am-4.30pm and Saturdays from 9am-12noon.
