Talented artists from the Garden House and Targeted Support have transformed an old bath into a stunning work of art and soon-to-be water feature with a few beads, shells, glitter and glue and a whole lot of flair. The bath was decorated during art therapy sessions once a week over three months. It will be painted with a waterproof sealant, have a pump installed and positioned at the rear of the Garden House, as part of the new outdoor recreational area that will also include a hot house, timber setting, shade sail and bbq. In a vege patch at the front of the Garden House, there’s another impressive project that is turning heads and provoking rumours of potential for a place in the Guinness Book of Records. Possibly the Sutherland Shire’s largest yellow zucchini is growing at a rapid rate thanks to a team of green thumbs who have tended to the now giant vegetable since planting a few seeds three weeks ago. While the skilful gardeners won’t reveal all their secrets, they have admitted that they’ve lovingly fertilised, mulched, watered and fed the plant with, amongst other things, worm juice. And their hard work has paid dividends, with the zucchini measuring more than 50cm in length at time of writing and only time will tell how large it will grow. Zucchini fritter anyone?
