Innaburra Good Sports

High school students from Bangor’s Innaburra School joined Sylvanvale day program participants from the Sutherland Activity Centre (SAC) for a sports day with a few games thrown in for good measure. Hoop jumping, ball throwing, relay races and tennis kept everyone entertained; the bean bag race was run and won, but not before attracting some fierce competition.

The sports day is an annual event for year 10 Innaburra students, who organise and run it as part of the community service section in their school curriculum. On the day they received a short briefing from Sylvanvale’s Day Programs Manager, before setting up the sports circuits on the croquet greens and grassed areas around the SAC.

The program concluded on a high with the much anticipated Innaburra vs. Sylvanvale tug of war. While Innaburra was too strong for Sylvanvale, the strength and perseverance displayed by both sides was very impressive.

Thankyou to Innaburra School for a very enjoyable and worthwhile day that will be remembered fondly by all who attended.
