In December and January Sylvanvale participated in the NSW Rural Fire Service’s Assist Infirm, Disabled and Elderly Residents Program (AIDER). The program allows properties situated in Level 1 bush fire zones to receive free hazard reduction assistance from members of the NSW Rural Fire Service.
As part of this initiative we also requested that the Fire Service conduct Pre-Incident Planning for all Sylvanvale sites. The feedback we received from the Fire Service was very encouraging and with their help we are now much better prepared to respond and deal with any risk posed during bush fire season.
