Sylvanvale Foundation is an integral part of a partnership never before seen in NSW. Together with Campbelltown Arts Centre, Peter Fay and the University Of Western Sydney Centre we are launching a very exciting creative project called Studio West.
Studio West will provide a unique opportunity for artists with an intellectual disability to explore and develop their artistic potential, foster social and industry networks as well as nurturing vocational possibilities.
In this 12 month pilot project artists with an intellectual disability will work alongside professional artists in a studio environment at Campbelltown Arts Centre.
Studio West will run for 12 hours a week over two days at the Campbelltown Arts Centre (CAC). Ten artists with an intellectual disability will be recruited from Camden, Campbelltown and Wollongong.
Sylvanvale Foundation Director John Kelly said, “Sylvanvale Foundation is incredibly excited to be an intrinsic part of such a unique and rewarding project. We are looking forward to seeing the creative talents of the artists involved in Studio West be fully realised and we hope that this project will have a broad reach not just locally but state wide.”
