Wouldn’t it be nice if every day was a holiday? The kids at Sylvanvale’s After School and Vacation Care made the most of their recent holidays, trying out a fun and exciting activity each day.
They had a visit from a Bug Man and Kindifarm. Everyone adored the cude and cuddly farm animals including lambs, goats, ducklings, piglets, rabbits and chicks. When it came to the creepy crawlies on show by the Bug Man, everyone was fascinated but glad the huge cockroach and bird eating spiders were safely secured in display boxes! Keeping with the animal theme, the kids also visited Featherdale Wildlife Park, where they had the chance to see a huge range of Australian animals – both the cute kind and the scaly varieties.
Other days they burnt off energy with a visit to the pool and Funarama – an indoor play centre with heaps of activities including a maze, flying fox and ball bit. To keep their minds active they visited the Wollongong Science Museum, The Powerhouse Museum, the Afford Sensory Room and the Clue Trail at Homebush.
For a laugh Woo Hoo the clown came to the centre to perform and to top it all off, they made chocolate crackles in a tasty and very hands on cooking class – with everyone wanting to lick the bowl clean!
