The sensory garden at the Sutherland Activity Centre (SAC) grows with the help of volunteers. A team of employees from BT Financial Group spent Friday 18 November transforming the front yard at the SAC into a wonderful retreat.
The almost bare yard is now full of colour, with rows of pots, plants, a garden arch, a seat and an exciting feature garden planted into the hull of a boat.
Manager of Sylvanvale Foundation’s SAC, Sandy Wade, said “The staff and clients at the SAC are thankful for the time, effort, hard work and imagination the BT Financial Group put into making a beautiful garden for us.”
The BT employees had this to say about their day volunteering at Sylvanvale: “The most valuable part of the day was interacting with the clients and creating something that will be of benefit to them,” and that it was great to “Leave a legacy behind for the staff and clients to enjoy. It was good to see that we made a difference.”
