The crowd cheered when Alloway took the stage at Brass Monkey on Sunday 12 February. But the Sylvanvale members in the crowd cheered the loudest. Why? Because Alloway was donating the proceeds of their performance, along with the sales of their CD, to Sylvanvale.
The Sutherland Shire-based band who play a cool mix of pop and surf rock have toured around Australia and Indonesia but have a soft-spot for their home community. “We wanted to do our bit to support it,” said Ben Horwood, the singer and guitarist.
Sylvanvale Foundation’s Fundraising Manager Loretta Passerini said, “We were pleased to be part of such a fun and unique event. We’re grateful for the generosity of Alloway.”
