The therapy team has two service streams:
- Providing consultative services to the Sylvanvale Early Learning Service, Sylvanvale School, Sylvanvale adult day programs and Residential Services.
- Private therapy practice which offers a range of services to the local community.
The Sylvanvale therapy team receives no government funding to operate our services. For this reason all services involve fees and charges.

Assessment Services offered include:
- Assessment of school and preschool aged children for their gross motor skills and neurological development.
- Assessment of mobility and need for walking and standing aids.
- Hydrotherapy assessment and program development.
- School & preschool age assessment of visual motor integration, fine motor, handwriting, play skills, sensory regulation and sensory integration.
- Assessments for wheelchairs & seating needs for children, adults and older persons.
- Advice on toilet and bathroom aids.
- Home modifications.

- Assessment of challenging behaviours for both children and adults.
- Assessment of social skills.
- Griffiths developmental assessments.
- Psychometric assessments.
- Screening assessment which involves an observation of a child’s speech, language and social interaction skills. This service is most appropriate for children at kindergarten age or younger.
- Comprehensive assessment; this is an evaluation of a child’s speech, language and communication skills using a range of assessment tools.
- Assessment of feeding and swallowing.
Our outreach program offers off site consultancy services to families, schools and other professionals regarding children and adults with mild, moderate and high support needs.
Consultancy services may be beneficial for:
- Establishing Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals targeting a child’s specific areas of need.
- Discussion of strategies and recommendations to be implemented in the home or classroom.
- Provide increased information regarding a person’s difficulties.
- Direction and advice regarding resources and agencies that may be of assistance.
Direct therapy
Children aged 0-18 years may receive direct individual therapy services at the Sylvanvale School site. This service is specifically targeted at children with mild to moderate difficulties.
