Due to open it’s doors in mid-2011 to all children, the Integrated Long Day Care centre (ILDC) will be the first of its kind in Sydney. The ILDC will provide an additional 59 child care places for children aged 0-6 years, which are at a premium within the Sutherland Shire. The new centre will offer all children a safe, supportive and inclusive environment, with all the benefits of a mainstream childcare centre, along with the added bonus of having highly trained and skilled staff that will cater to the support needs of children with disabilities. Children without disabilities will also be able to access the service. Each child at the centre will have a specific program tailored to their needs. Children with disabilities will receive individualised services in an environment where they can enjoy the same style of early childhood education as their peers. Children without disabilities also participate in a highly staffed, premium quality program. Families of children with significant disabilities are often unable to find places in commercial long day care centres. This service will complement the already established suite of early children's services operating from the site consisting of an early learning and education service and speech and occupational therapy services. The integration and holistic approach of the two centres is fabulous for all involved, and particularly for families as it means siblings can go to the same centre. to find out moreYou can download a brochure Long Day Care Centre and Education & Early Learning Service.
