Accreditation

Sylvanvale Foundation is accredited and registered against six different frameworks that include reporting requirements and processes to help ensure that Sylvanvale delivers services in a consistent manner and that meet the expectations of stakeholders. These include:

  • Sylvanvale’s management system has been certified to the International Standards Organisation ISO 9001.
  • Sylvanvale’s disability services management system has been certified to Disability Services Standards (DSS).
  • Sylvanvale is an accredited and designated agency by the NSW Government’s Office of Children, Children’s Guardian (OCCG) to provide out-of-home care to children and young people.
  • We abide by the NSW Government Human Services, Ageing, Disability and Home Care-Integrated Monitoring Framework (IMF)
  • We are a registered non-government school with the NSW Board of Studies (BOS).
  • We are qualified by the National Childcare Accreditation Council (NCAC) and Outside School Hours Care Quality Assurance (OSHCQA).

At Sylvanvale continuous improvement is driven through the organisation using the Plan, Do, Check, Act model which can be found on the International Standards Organisation website. It entails:

  • Plan: Establish objectives and processes required to deliver the desired results
  • Do: Implement the process developed
  • Check: Monitor and evaluate the implemented process by testing the results against predetermined objectives
  • Act: Apply actions necessary for improvement if the results require changes

Full details on the model are here: http://www.iso.org/iso/iso_catalogue/management_standards/understand_the_basics.htm

At Sylvanvale we continually strive for improvement and constantly self audit to ensure this. The Executive Team is involved in monitoring the outcomes of these activities and all employees follow the organisation’s policies and procedures. These steps lead to quality processes that are reliable, consistent and meet expectations.
