Annual Report

Message from the Chairman

Over the past year, the Sylvanvale Foundation has continued to build on its strong foundations, delivering meaningful impact through strategic investment, inclusive community engagement, and a steadfast commitment to improving the lives of people with disability. Overall, we have had an exceedingly positive year with strong returns achieved on the Foundation’s investments.

Following the appointment of Providence Wealth as our investment  manager last year, our Investment Committee has worked diligently to ensure our funds are managed responsibly and in alignment with our long-term objectives. This partnership is already helping us generate sustainable returns that will support better social outcomes for years to come.

Earlier this year we were excited to have conducted a sale process for Mikarie Place. Unfortunately, this process was unsuccessful, and we are now back in the market.

We were proud to see our collaboration with Sylvanvale Limited result in the commencement of a new Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) property in Illawong. We were pleased to be able to host a sod-turning event attended by Mayor Jack Boyd, Jenny Ware (former Member for Hughes), Board Director David Rafferty, and other valued members of the local council and community. This project exemplifies our shared commitment to expanding high-quality, accessible housing options in the Sutherland Shire.

We again remain passionate about fostering inclusion through sport and community connection. This year, we proudly continued our sponsorship of the Titans Football Club and the Powerful Owls mixed ability rugby team—initiatives that bring people together and celebrate diverse abilities. We also maintained our support for SGS News, helping to keep the local human services network informed and connected.

I am proud to have seen Ken Warburton, a pillar of the Sylvanvale community and someone who has helped Sylvanvale significantly particularly through his founding and leadership of the Pre-WWII Car Show, appointed as a life member of the Sylvanvale Foundation. I thank Ken for his many years of service to our community and for the profound impact he has had on the people that we support.

As always, I extend my heartfelt thanks to Her Excellency, the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO KC, Governor of New South Wales, for her continued support as Vice Regal Patron of the Sylvanvale Foundation. I also wish to acknowledge my fellow directors, our partners, and the many individuals whose dedication and generosity have enabled us to make such meaningful progress.

Together, we are building a future where people with disability have greater choice, independence, and opportunity.
